Natalie Janzen

PhD Candidate
Exercise and Nutrition Research Program

Natalie is currently studying the physiological roles of the interaction of AMP activated protein kinase and glycogen in metabolism and exercise. The objectives of her thesis include understanding how glycogen regulates exercise capacity, energy sensing pathways, and energy storage, ultimately providing insight into how exercise benefits energy balance and offsets dysregulation of energy sensing that contributes to the development of type 2 diabetes.

Natalie is studying under the supervision of Professor John Hawley and Drs. Nolan Hoffman and Jamie Whitfield.
